The Bachrach Group is partnered with one of the leading legal services organizations on their search for a PAYROLL SPECIALIST. This role offers great benefits, exposure to international payroll, and close collaboration with cross-functional partners in a dynamic, fast-moving environment. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of full-cycle multi-state payroll experience and a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or any related field.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage full-cycle weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly and off-cycle payrolls for all employees across multiple states in the US
- Support processing of pay adjustments, corrections, and payroll exceptions within required deadlines
- Import, review, and validate timesheet data to ensure accurate payment of hourly staff
- Maintain and update employee records in financial and payroll systems, including W-4 forms, direct deposit details, and address changes
- Process requests to reactivate terminated employees in the financial system as needed by Billing and Finance teams
- Prepare, review, and organize onboarding payroll documentation for new hires to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Respond to Verification of Employment (VOE) requests in a timely manner
- Assist with electronic filing and maintenance of payroll and employee records in a paperless system
- Generate routine payroll reports each pay cycle
- Reconcile employee personal accounts each pay period and communicate any balances due, reimbursements, or deductions
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of office experience, preferably within a professional services environment
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to assist employees and collaborate with internal departments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Word); strong 10-key skills required
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now is preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to analyze information, apply critical thinking, and follow detailed instructions
- High attention to detail with the ability to proofread and correct own work
- Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment with competing deadlines and reliance on cross-functional input
- Occasional overtime may be required

Salary range: $60,000 - $74,000 DOE (overtime pay eligible)
