Payroll Specialist

We are seeking an experienced HR/Payroll professional to support a public-sector organization through a system implementation and stabilization period. This role will play a critical part in benefits administration, HRIS/HCM implementation support, and payroll validation efforts. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically proficient, and comfortable working onsite 4–5 days per week.


Top Priorities

  • Experience working in the public sector (K-12 school districts, community colleges, or county offices preferred)
  • Strong background in Benefits Administration
  • Experience supporting or participating in HRIS/HCM system implementations, ideally with CGI Advantage ERP
  • Hands-on involvement in system testing, data validation, and parallel payroll processing
  • Ability to work onsite 4–5 days per week
  • Perform detailed data validation and discrepancy troubleshooting
  • Provide support during system go-live and post-production stabilization


Nice to Have (Not Required)

  • Experience coordinating retirement benefits such as CalPERS or CalSTRS
  • ERP implementation experience within education environments
  • Accounting background with exposure to:
  • IOCDL (Infer Object by Labor Distribution Classification)
  • PAM (Privileged Access Management) processes
