PAYROLL SPECIALIST

Hybrid (2 days onsite)


Madison Street Search has partnered with a high-growth, private equity–backed organization that is building out its in-house payroll function and looking to add a Payroll Specialist to the team. This role reports directly to the Director of Payroll and sits within a collaborative, team-first environment focused on creating scalable, efficient payroll operations.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end payroll processing across the U.S. and Canada, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Manage both recurring and off-cycle payroll activity, including adjustments and terminations
  • Maintain and audit payroll data within ADP Workforce Now
  • Support timekeeping workflows and system improvements, including UKG-related initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with applicable payroll laws and regulations across jurisdictions
  • Assist with audit requests, documentation, and process standardization efforts (SOPs)
  • Partner with HR and internal teams to resolve discrepancies and improve data integrity
  • Serve as a point of contact for payroll-related questions and vendor coordination


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of payroll experience, including multi-state U.S. and Canada
  • Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now and UKG
  • Strong understanding of payroll compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with cross-functional teams
