We are seeking an experienced and highly analytical Payroll Manager to lead payroll operations while serving as a key partner to Human Resources on a variety of employee programs and initiatives. This role extends beyond traditional payroll administration and requires a professional who can successfully manage complex payroll processes, support leave and accommodation programs, contribute to compensation-related initiatives, and help drive process improvements across HR and payroll functions.


The ideal candidate will possess strong technical payroll expertise, a solid understanding of employee leave programs, experience working with compensation structures, and the ability to audit and analyze data in a fast-paced environment. Prior involvement in a major HRIS or ERP implementation is highly desirable.


Payroll Administration & Compliance

  • Oversee end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate payroll execution for all employees.
  • Manage complex payroll components, including bonuses, commissions, incentive payments, retroactive adjustments, garnishments, and multi-state payroll considerations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Reconcile payroll-related accounts and conduct regular audits to maintain data integrity and accuracy.
  • Partner with Finance, HR, and external vendors to resolve payroll discrepancies and improve processes.
  • Maintain payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Leave Administration & Employee Programs

  • Partner closely with HR to administer employee leave programs, including:
  • Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
  • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodations
  • Workers' Compensation programs
  • Other federal, state, and company-sponsored leave programs
  • Coordinate with employees, managers, third-party administrators, and HR stakeholders to ensure timely and compliant leave management.
  • Track leave-related payroll impacts and benefit deductions.

Compensation & Benefits Support

  • Assist with the administration and analysis of compensation programs, including annual incentive and bonus plans.
  • Support the design, implementation, and ongoing management of bonus plan structures and related compensation initiatives.
  • Partner with HR leadership on compensation data analysis, reporting, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with Benefits and HR teams to ensure accurate payroll deductions and benefit-related transactions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, including payroll management or supervisory responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, wage and hour requirements, and payroll best practices.
  • Experience administering or supporting employee leave programs, including FMLA, ADA, and Workers' Compensation.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex payroll calculations and audits.
