Background:
Alera is the creator of Zensa Topical Anaesthetic, one of the fastest growing pharma skin care products in the tattoo, microblading and aesthetician markets (@zensaskin on IG). We are looking to add the right fit to our expanding US team to support the rollout of Zensa across dermatology and medspa locations throughout New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Having experienced tremendous growth over the past three years, Alera is looking for a 1099 Territory Representative to help drive in-person account activation and long-term growth within the aesthetic medical space.
Description:
As 1099 Territory Representative, you will be responsible for in-person account activation, clinical education and long-term account ownership at the provider level across NY, NJ and CT. Your mission will be to educate dermatology and medspa teams on Zensa, drive initial adoption and ordering, and build recurring relationships that compound over time. With your strong relationship-building skills, self-sufficiency and clinical fluency, you will own scheduling and routing across an 86-location territory and operate independently in a fast-paced, field-based environment.
Territory:
- New York (49 locations)
-New Jersey (31 locations)
-Connecticut (6 locations)
Responsibilities:
-Conduct in-person lunch-and-learns with dermatology and medspa teams, targeting approximately 5 per week
-Educate providers and clinical staff on product usage, benefits and clinical differentiation
-Drive initial adoption and ordering at the clinic level, and execute ongoing follow-up visits to reinforce usage and drive reorders
-Build and maintain strong relationships with providers, office managers and clinical staff
-Own scheduling and routing across the territory to maximize efficiency and coverage
-Track activity and account progress, and report on territory performance
-Complete initial coverage (lunch-and-learns at all locations) within approximately 4.5 months
Basic Requirements:
-Experience in aesthetic sales, dermatology or medical devices
-Strong understanding of medspa and dermatology workflows (laser, injectables, etc.)
-Comfortable speaking with providers and clinical teams in a professional clinical setting
-Highly organized and self-sufficient with the ability to operate independently in the field
-Relationship-driven with a focus on long-term account growth over one-time sales
- Self-motivated and driven with a strong work ethic and a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude
- Strong organizational and project management skills with keen attention to detail
-Ability to maintain consistent weekly activity across a defined 4.5-month rollout period
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to cover the NY/NJ/CT territory
Preferred Requirements:
-Based in NY or NJ
-Existing relationships within dermatology or medspa channels in the Tri-State area
-Prior experience with topical anesthetics, aesthetic consumables or injectable-adjacent products
Performance Expectations:
This role is structured as a defined rollout period of approximately 4.5 months, during which the representative is expected to maintain a pace consistent with ~5 meetings per week and complete initial coverage across all 86 territory locations. If time is taken off during the rollout period, the representative is still expected to complete all required account visits and maintain overall performance expectations. Failure to maintain pace or complete coverage within a reasonable timeframe may result in adjustment or termination of the agreement.
Growth Opportunity:
-Opportunity to remain on long-term and continue growing your book of business beyond the initial rollout
-High-performing candidates may be considered for full-time roles as the company expands
-Clear path into broader territory coverage or national account responsibility
