POSITION SUMMARY
The Operations Manager is responsible for leading daily manufacturing operations within an investment casting environment to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role oversees supervisors and production teams across multiple shifts, drives continuous improvement, and ensures adherence to cost, quality, delivery, and safety objectives.
This is an on-site position. Relocation assistance may be offered to qualified candidates relocating to the area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Production & Operations Leadership
· Lead and manage production operations across multiple shifts to meet safety, quality, delivery, and
cost targets
· Directly supervise and develop production supervisors and team leads
· Coordinate production scheduling, labor planning, and capacity utilization
Investment Casting Process Oversight
· Ensure consistent execution of investment casting processes, including pattern making, shell building,
melting, pouring, heat treatment, and finishing
· Troubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actions
· Partner with engineering and quality teams on process improvements and defect reduction
Continuous Improvement
· Drive Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement initiatives
· Identify waste, improve throughput, and reduce scrap and rework
· Lead Kaizen events and support standardized work initiatives
Safety & Compliance
· Promote and enforce a strong safety culture; ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety
standards
· Conduct safety audits, incident investigations, and corrective actions
· Support environmental and regulatory compliance efforts
People Development & Culture
· Coach, mentor, and develop supervisors and hourly team members
· Support training, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives
· Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
Performance Management
· Track and report key manufacturing KPIs (OEE, scrap, downtime, labor efficiency, on-time delivery)
· Use data-driven decision-making to improve operational results
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Required
· 5–10+ years of manufacturing leadership experience, with significant experience in investment casting
· Proven experience leading production teams in a multi-shift environment
· Strong knowledge of casting processes, metallurgy basics, and manufacturing best practices
· Demonstrated success driving continuous improvement and operational efficiency
· Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field
· Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement certification
· Experience in steel or specialty alloy casting environments
