Akkodis is seeking a Network Engineer for a W2 contract position in Winston Salem, NC.
Pay Range: $40.00 to $45.00 per hour on W2; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Network Engineer job responsibilities include:
- Perform routing and switching configuration and troubleshooting across enterprise environments
- Support device upgrades, refresh activities, and infrastructure changes
- Assist with data center and site network infrastructure, including hardware installation and connectivity
- Perform fiber and cable plant work, including patching, testing, and validation of connectivity
- Support WAN and LAN connectivity across multiple sites
- Execute network changes in accordance with RAI change control processes
- Assist in maintaining and updating network documentation
- Work with engineering and operations teams to support ongoing infrastructure initiatives
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of network engineering experience in enterprise routing and switching environments, with a focus on implementation, operations, and infrastructure support.
- CCNA certification preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience in enterprise networking environments.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, routing, and switching fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience configuring and supporting Cisco routers and switches.
- Working knowledge of routing protocols, including OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 network connectivity issues.
- Experience supporting data center and enterprise network infrastructure environments.
- Understanding of network hardware installation, deployment, and connectivity requirements.
- Hands-on experience with fiber and copper cabling, including patch panels, SFPs, and physical layer troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting network upgrades, technology refreshes, and infrastructure implementation projects.
- Ability to execute network changes and follow implementation plans within controlled production environments.
Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Have)
- Familiarity with Cisco Catalyst Center (DNA Center)
- Experience working in large-scale, multi-site enterprise environments
- Exposure to data center switching architectures
- BICSI Certification in data center design or technical installation
