Title: Network and Communications Specialist
Location: Uncasville, CT- 100% onsite

Pay Rate / Salary (Ranges OK): $56,000-$65,000
About the Role:
Focus on network, phone, wireless, and cable TV infrastructure across a large-scale, destination resort property. This is a hands-on, field-based role with strong career growth potential.
Key Responsibilities:- Install, configure, and maintain network switches (Juniper preferred, Cisco experience valued).
- Support access layer networking, including VLAN changes, patching, and troubleshooting.
- Assist with phone and wireless systems.
- Collaborate with corporate network engineers and provide onsite support for projects and escalations.
- Participate in after-hours maintenance (2am-10am windows) and on-call rotation (approx. every 7 weeks).
- Handle physical tasks: walking 4-5 miles/day, lifting equipment (up to 50 lbs), and using lifts at significant heights.
- Travel between onsite casino, arena, hotel, golf course, and other facilities as needed.
Requirements:- 1-3 years' experience in a network, IT, or communications technician/administrator role.
- Hands-on experience with networking (switch configuration, VLANs, patch cables, fiber, command line and GUI interfaces).
- Familiarity with cable types (Cat5, Cat6, fiber—single/multimode, connectors like LC, SC, ST).
- Ability to crimp/punch down cables and use cable testing tools.
- Exposure to ticketing systems (any platform; ServiceNow or ManageEngine a plus).
- Self-starter, able to prioritize, learn quickly, and work with minimal supervision.
- Strong team player with adaptability and a customer-service mindset.
- Must have or be able to obtain a lift license (training provided).
- Interest in long-term career growth in networking (not seeking quick transition to cybersecurity).
Schedule & Pay:- Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm (with project-based after-hours work).
- Salary starts at $56,000; higher offers considered for strong experience.
