Summary

Drake Loeb PLLC is an AV-rated mid-sized law firm in the beautiful lower Hudson Valley. Our practice is varied and includes areas such as estate planning, real estate, commercial development, defense litigation for major insurance carriers, and the transactional representation of businesses from mom-and-pop shops to global entities such as Merlin Entertainments (Legoland) and Mettler-Toledo.

Another major practice area upon which our firm was built is the representation of municipalities in all forms -- from municipal board representation to acting as Justice Court prosecutors to providing litigation defense.

We are currently seeking attorneys with solid municipal law experience as described below to support our existing and growing client base in this area.

The position is primarily onsite in New Windsor with the flexibility of remote work for work/life balance.

The Position

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited Law School
• Licensed to practice law in New York
• Recent NYS municipal law experience representing municipal boards including the preparation of local laws and resolutions
• Related experience handling residential real estate transactions and representing companies with land use matters is not required but viewed favorably
• Must be available to attend night meetings throughout Orange County, as well as in surrounding counties such as Dutchess, Putnam, and Ulster
• Superior oral communication and presentation skills
• Familiarity with and interest in living in the Lower Hudson Valley during employment for business development and networking
• Passion for the practice of law

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a municipal law caseload by attending meetings, preparing resolutions and local laws, providing legal advice on a variety of matters to municipal clients, and associated work
• Work closely and collaborate with other Drake Loeb attorneys and Partners on legal matters
• Communicate effectively with Drake Loeb staff and attorneys, clients, outside attorneys, and those connected to your matters
