Role Description

Guercio & Guercio, LLP is seeking an attorney for its White Plains office to practice primarily in the areas of Education Law, Special Education Law, Labor & Employment Law, and Litigation. The attorney will work under the supervision of partners and directly with school district and municipal clients on a broad range of matters, including: general counsel and legal advice; student discipline; special education matters, impartial hearings and appeals; labor and employment issues; board governance and policy matters; administrative proceedings; state and federal litigation. 

Salary

The expected salary range for this position is between $90,000 to $150,000, contingent on experience, qualifications and other factors permitted by law. The firm also offers a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional development and advancement.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the New York State Bar;
• Strong research, writing, analytical and advocacy skills;
• Excellent negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills;
• Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast pasted practice;
• Prior experience in education law, labor and employment law, litigation, municipal law, or local governments is preferred, but not required.
• Ability and willingness to travel to clients sites, administrative proceedings, hearings, and court appearances. Access to reliable transportation required.
