Metrology Quality Engineer

SUMMARY

We are seeking a Metrology Quality Engineer to support precision manufacturing and quality initiatives through advanced inspection, measurement, and continuous improvement activities. This role will work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure dimensional accuracy, product quality, process reliability, and compliance with quality standards.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, program, and operate coordinate measuring equipment and related inspection systems.
  • Create and maintain inspection programs utilizing metrology software platforms.
  • Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections to verify dimensional compliance.
  • Interpret technical drawings and apply GD&T principles during inspection activities.
  • Analyze inspection results, identify quality concerns, and prepare measurement reports.
  • Investigate nonconformances using root cause analysis methodologies and support corrective actions.
  • Assist with quality system compliance, audits, and documentation requirements.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and automation teams to improve processes and product quality.
  • Support new product introductions, process validations, and part qualification activities.
  • Provide technical guidance and training related to inspection methods and metrology best practices.
  • Participate in supplier quality evaluations and customer quality reviews when required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related technical discipline; equivalent experience considered.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in quality engineering, metrology, or a related manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) and inspection software.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint interpretation.
  • Experience within precision manufacturing, machining, automation, aerospace, medical device, or similar industries.
  • Knowledge of quality tools and methodologies including SPC, MSA, CAPA, and root cause analysis.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience supporting audits, compliance activities, and quality documentation.
  • Familiarity working alongside CNC machining operations or automated manufacturing systems.
