POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Control Engineer is responsible for maintaining product and process quality to meet customer requirements and quality objectives. Leads problem-solving, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities to reduce defects and improve manufacturing performance. Supports compliance with IATF 16949, customer-specific requirements, and internal quality standards.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Monitor and improve product and process quality to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal requirements.
  • Conduct and support process audits, product audits, and layered process audits as required.
  • Investigate quality concerns and lead root cause analysis using structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, etc.).
  • Develop, implement, and verify corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurring quality issues.
  • Analyze quality performance metrics, including PPM, scrap, rework, customer complaints, and process capability trends.
  • Support Control Plan maintenance and implementation with cross-functional teams.
  • Support PPAP activities and engineering changes as required.
  • Respond to customer quality issues and communicate quality requirements internally and externally.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to reduce defects and improve manufacturing performance.
  • Support internal, customer, and third-party audits, including IATF 16949 requirements.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following EHS policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION AND EXPERINCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing quality environment preferred.
  • Experience in automotive manufacturing and high-volume production processes preferred.
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements and customer-specific requirements preferred.
  • Working knowledge of AIAG Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC, and MSA).
  • Basic metrology skills and blueprint reading ability.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Korean-English bilingual capability is preferred but not required.

  • Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Ability to interact professionally with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to drive quality improvement initiatives.


PHYSICAL AND/OR MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance when necessary
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and sit for extended periods as required.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Office work environment with controlled temperature.
  • Manufacturing environment with seasonal temperature variations.
  • Exposure to noise, moving equipment, and bright lighting.
  • Required to wear company-issued personal protective equipment (PPE) while on the production floor or customer sites.


TRAVEL

  • Occasional local and overnight travel may be required.
  • Travel may be by automobile or commercial airline.
