A well-established civil litigation firm is seeking a Medical Malpractice Defense Attorney to join its growing team in Atlanta. The position focuses on defending healthcare providers and institutions in complex medical malpractice matters, alongside broader insurance defense litigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle all phases of medical malpractice defense litigation, from case inception through trial
- Manage a caseload of complex matters involving healthcare professionals and institutions
- Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses
- Take and defend depositions, including expert witnesses
- Attend court hearings, mediations, and trials
- Work closely with clients, insurers, and experts to develop defense strategies
- Collaborate with senior attorneys on high-exposure cases as needed
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active membership in the Georgia Bar (required)
- 3+ years of experience in insurance defense litigation
- Prior experience handling medical malpractice cases strongly preferred
- Proven ability to manage files independently
- Strong legal writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
