Materials Coordinator

Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Materials Coordinator to join our team at SIDUS Solutions!


In this role, you will manage the flow of materials that keep production running smoothly—from purchasing and inventory control to production support and supplier coordination. You’ll work closely with our Materials Manager to ensure materials are available, accurate, and aligned with production needs. This is a hands-on role in an environment where your ability to stay organized, solve problems, and work across teams will directly support operational success.


Duties & Essential Functions

  • Manage day-to-day inventory activities including receiving, stocking, issuing, kitting, shipping, and cycle counts
  • Maintain accurate inventory records within ERP/MRP systems and ensure data integrity
  • Support production scheduling by tracking kits, monitoring shortages, and helping maintain build readiness
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery, quality expectations, and issue resolution
  • Monitor material flow and communicate status updates related to production and RMA orders
  • Support purchasing activities including obtaining quotes, placing orders, and assisting with vendor follow-up
  • Assist with BOM maintenance and support ECO/ECR processes to ensure changes are accurately reflected in production
  • Prepare and track shipping documentation for inbound and outbound materials
  • Participate in inventory reporting, audits, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Support administrative and operational tasks as needed to keep workflows running efficiently


Qualifications & Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, inventory control, purchasing, or supply chain support
  • Working knowledge of inventory management and production environments
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Fishbowl, or similar)
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Comfortable working with data to track inventory, identify issues, and support reporting
  • Understanding of BOMs, production workflows, and material planning concepts
  • Strong communication skills for working with internal teams and external suppliers
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Ability to work in a structured, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities


Physical Demands and Work Environment

This role is performed in a small business manufacturing and office environment. The position requires occasional physical activity including lifting up to 30 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
