About Crimson Goes Blue

Crimson Goes Blue (CGB) mobilizes the talents, networks, and resources of the Harvard community to help build a more just American democracy. Founded in 2019 by Harvard alumni, CGB engages over 3000 members through volunteering, strategic giving, and community leadership to elect Democrats, protect election integrity, and push back against authoritarian threats.

Our 2026 midterm strategy focuses on maximizing impact in key battleground states.

  • Organize members on the ground and virtual activism in Arizona, California, Georgia, Maine, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin
  • Raise $2.5 million through the Crimson Goes Blue Portfolio for candidates and grassroots groups
  • Train members in effective voter communication
  • Support initiatives that protect election integrity and prevent election subversion 

The Operations Coordinator will help ensure that the systems supporting this work—data, communications, events, and volunteer coordination—run smoothly during a critical election cycle.  


Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized, mission‑driven professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and enjoys supporting multiple projects simultaneously. Reporting to the Managing Director and Political Director, the Operations Coordinator will help manage core systems, support volunteer leaders, and ensure key initiatives run effectively.


Key ResponsibilitiesSystems Management
  • Manage the NGP database, including reports and member-wide emails
  • Maintain organized and secure files in Google Drive
Crimson Goes Blue Portfolio Campaign

Support the campaign to raise $2.5 million for candidates and grassroots organizations.

  • Track donations and produce regular campaign updates
  • Coordinate meetings, outreach, and campaign materials
  • Assist Portfolio “Champions” leading giving circles
Event Coordination
  • Coordinate logistics for Zoom and in‑person events
  • Manage registrations and attendance tracking
  • Prepare slide decks and meeting materials
  • Coordinate follow‑up communication and notes
Action Team Support
  • Coordinate outreach and meetings for state and program teams
  • Prepare presentations with Action Team leaders
  • Track follow‑up actions and communications
Member Recruitment & Mobilization
  • Support a member-led recruitment campaign
  • Track and report on membership growth
  • Assist Class Captains with outreach to classmates


Newsletter and Substack Production

  •  Assist with the production and layout of biweekly newsletter
  •  Layout and send weekly Substack Recap


Who We Are Seeking
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑moving, mission‑driven environment
  • Strong written and verbal communicator
  • Detail‑oriented with strong data and reporting skills
  • Proactive communicator with leadership and team members
  • Fluent with Google Workspace tools, especially spreadsheets
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Experience with NGP or similar CRM databases
  • Experience working on a political campaign
  • Experience managing and motivating volunteers
  • Event coordination experience, including Zoom facilitation
Education & Experience
  • BA or higher plus 2–3 years of professional experience
  • Harvard affiliation is welcome but not required


Time Commitment & Location
  • 20 hours per week
  • Typically 1–2 days per week in the Cambridge/Somerville area
  • Approximately half the schedule aligned with CGB working hours; remainder flexible
  • Contract runs through mid‑December 2026 with possible extension
Compensation

$435 per week
