Role Summary:

Our client's organization supports the scientific programs by ensuring reliable receipt, storage, and distribution of critical laboratory materials and equipment. The Materials Coordinator supports both SCM loading dock operations and Supply & Quality Management (SQM) stockroom operations, helping manage the movement and tracking of research materials across multiple facilities.


Material Coordinators receive laboratory consumables, scientific instruments, and other research materials used across the facilities. They record inventory transactions in SAP and support distribution of supplies through stockrooms, internal delivery routes, and satellite laboratory supply stations (“minimarts”).


The role requires strong attention to detail and the safe handling of sensitive research materials, including hazardous chemicals and temperature-controlled reagents. Material Coordinators play an important role in ensuring researchers have reliable access to the materials required for their work.


Material Coordinators may be assigned responsibilities across loading dock operations, stockroom inventory management, or other logistics functions depending on operational needs.


Responsibilities:

  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments including laboratory consumables, reagents, IT equipment, and scientific instruments
  • Verify deliveries against purchase orders and packing slips and process goods receipts in SAP
  • Capture serial numbers and apply asset tags for incoming equipment and IT assets
  • Digitally scan and archive packing slips and receiving documentation using OCR tools
  • Maintain organized stockroom inventory and storage locations
  • Restock satellite laboratory supply stations across the facilities
  • Fulfill internal material requests through the requisitioning system
  • Support movement of materials and equipment between buildings and storage locations
  • Assist with intake and staging of large laboratory equipment and capital assets
  • Operate pallet jacks and other material-handling equipment as required
  • Communicate with delivery drivers and internal teams regarding shipments and deliveries
  • Handle hazardous chemicals, temperature-controlled materials, and sensitive reagents in accordance with institutional safety procedures
  • Maintain accurate documentation of receiving and inventory transactions


Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ year experience in logistics, warehouse operations, inventory management, or related operational work
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn ERP inventory systems such as SAP
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately process inventory transactions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment
  • Ability to lift at least 40 lbs. and perform physically intensive tasks
  • Valid driver’s license required and ability to operate vehicles including box trucks
  • Ability to safely operate pallet jacks or similar material-handling equipment
  • Strong teamwork and customer service orientation
