Job Title: Manufacturing Supervisor

Location: Lansing, MI

Type of Role: Direct Hire (Full-Time, Onsite)

Shift: Friday, 8–10 hours daily (overtime/weekend support as needed)

Pay: $35-$38/hr plus 7% shift premium


POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor to oversee daily production operations in a fast-paced aerospace/defense manufacturing environment. This role manages personnel, schedules, and workflows to ensure production goals, quality standards, and safety regulations are met. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who can troubleshoot issues, optimize processes, train and develop staff, and report key metrics to upper management—serving as the bridge between strategic goals and floor execution.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Plan and organize production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products while optimizing resources and minimizing waste.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of production workers, including assigning tasks, providing training, and monitoring performance.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, conduct inspections, and work to minimize hazards on the production floor.
  • Monitor production to ensure products meet quality standards, reducing waste, rework, and defects.
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and throughput.
  • Address machine downtime, material shortages, and staffing issues, escalating as needed to maintain schedule.
  • Train and develop employees to enhance skills and capabilities, providing ongoing feedback and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures.


QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS):

  • High school graduate or GED.
  • 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing, production, or a supervisory role.
  • Previous aerospace or defense manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Understanding of machinery, production processes, and inventory management software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and manufacturing software systems.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.


Additional Qualifications

  • Experience implementing or supporting lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor production staff and build a culture of accountability and safety.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing floor environment, including standing for long periods, lifting to 50 lbs, and wearing required PPE.
