Job Title: Manual Machinist

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to join our team and support precision manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for performing layouts, setting up, and operating conventional machine tools while ensuring high-quality workmanship and tight tolerances. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in manual machining, capable of interpreting complex blueprints and GD&T, and motivated to continuously improve machining methods, quality, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform layouts, setup, and operation of conventional machine tools
  • Read and interpret complex blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Develop and design setup methods when none exist
  • Hold close tolerances and perform in-process and final inspections
  • Train and support shop personnel on proper machining techniques and best practices
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance quality and reduce costs
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment
Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong background in manual machining, including mills and engine lathes
  • Experience operating a Horizontal Boring Mill
  • Proficient with precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and grinders
  • Advanced blueprint reading and machining to print
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Additional Qualifications (Preferred)
  • Completion of a machinist apprenticeship or equivalent technical training
  • Ability to setup and operate the following equipment:
    • ID/OD Grinders
    • Engine Lathe
    • Horizontal & Vertical Boring Mills
    • Radial Drill
    • Planer Mill
  • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on machine shop experience
  • Willingness to work overtime as production demands require

This is a Permanent position based out of Swedesboro, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
