The Opportunity

We are hiring a Managing Partner who will sit at the center of building our national platform and the legal team that powers it. This role is ideal for a 15–20+ year civil litigator or managing partner who is ready to leave the incremental path and step into a true ownership‑oriented venture.

You will work directly with the CEO and core leadership team to:

  • Shape and execute the firm’s civil litigation strategy nationally
  • Build and lead the attorney team that supports our growth and acquisitions
  • Align case selection, portfolio risk, and firm economics with investor‑backed growth objectives

What You Will Do

  • Lead the litigation platform - Provide strategic leadership and day‑to‑day oversight for a growing civil litigation portfolio, including complex, high‑stakes matters.
  • Build the legal team - Recruit, hire, and mentor senior attorneys, associates, and staff as we expand into new jurisdictions and integrate acquired firms.
  • Set standards and systems - Implement processes, playbooks, and KPIs for case evaluation, case management, risk controls, and client experience across the platform.
  • Own complex matters - Lead or supervise strategy in significant cases, from intake through trial or resolution, while coaching the next generation of litigators.
  • Partner on growth and acquisitions - Collaborate with executive leadership on firm growth initiatives, including market selection, practice expansion, and integration of acquired firms.
  • Represent the platform externally - Build relationships with referral sources, co‑counsel, and market influencers; help position 1787 Legal Group as a national brand in civil litigation.


Who You Are

  • 15–20+ years of civil litigation experience, with deep exposure to complex matters and trial work.
  • Prior experience as a managing partner, practice group leader, or senior trial lawyer with meaningful team leadership responsibilities.
  • Comfortable making firm‑level decisions about risk, investment, and resource allocation—not just case‑level calls.
  • Entrepreneurial and comfortable in a growth‑stage environment; you view change and ambiguity as levers, not threats.
  • Strong communicator and talent developer who enjoys mentoring and elevating other attorneys.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; active Arizona bar membership (or ability to obtain it promptly). Additional bar admissions are a plus.

A portable book of business is appreciated but not required; our case pipeline and referral network provide a strong baseline for you to build from.

  • Competitive base salary appropriate for an executive‑level managing partner
  • Performance‑based commissions tied to revenue and portfolio performance
  • Significant equity participation in the broader 1787 Legal Group platform, creating long‑term upside as the national brand scales

Total target compensation ranges from 300,000 – 600,000+, depending on experience, performance, and selected package structure (more salary‑weighted, more equity‑weighted, or a balanced approach).
