Description of Job:

The Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible for overseeing and performing a wide range of maintenance activities to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of manufacturing equipment, facilities, and infrastructure. This role combines hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities, including guiding maintenance technicians, planning preventative maintenance programs, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The Lead Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in minimizing downtime, improving equipment reliability, and maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Technical Execution

• Perform and oversee a variety of maintenance tasks, including painting, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general facility maintenance.

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems used in industrial manufacturing operations.

• Respond to and complete maintenance service requests in a timely and professional manner.

• Participate in the installation, modification, and improvement of new and existing manufacturing equipment.

• Manage and support facility renovations, upgrades, and improvement projects as needed. Leadership & Team Support

• Lead, train, and mentor maintenance technicians to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to best practices.

• Assign tasks, provide technical guidance, and support skill development across the maintenance team.

• Contribute to process improvements that enhance efficiency, reliability, and safety within the maintenance function. Planning & Preventative Maintenance

• Develop, implement, and maintain preventative maintenance (PM) plans to reduce equipment failures and unplanned downtime.

• Create and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to maintenance activities and equipment care.

• Ensure all preventative maintenance is performed according to established schedules and requirements. Documentation & Systems

• Accurately document maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.

• Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track work orders, preventative maintenance, parts usage, and equipment history.

• Support data-driven maintenance decisions by maintaining accurate and complete records. Safety & Compliance

• Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and other applicable safety and environmental standards.

• Promote a strong safety culture by identifying hazards, reporting unsafe conditions, and encouraging safe work practices.

• Adhere to all property management, facility, and safety policies.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift as required in an industrial manufacturing setting.

• Ability to work around machinery, tools, and industrial equipment.

• Willingness to respond to emergency maintenance needs as required.
