Associate Attorney II — Litigation

A well-established litigation firm is seeking a mid-level Associate Attorney who is ready to take on greater ownership, gain meaningful courtroom experience, and accelerate professional growth. This is a performance-driven position offering hands-on litigation experience with increasing responsibility. You will work closely with experienced attorneys while independently managing key aspects of active cases, including discovery, motion practice, and court appearances.

Key Responsibilities
- Draft motions, pleadings, and supporting legal documents
- Prepare for and appear at hearings as appropriate
- Manage written discovery, including drafting, responding, and resolving disputes
- Take and defend depositions (clients and fact witnesses; expert exposure over time)
- Represent clients at case management conferences, ex parte proceedings, and other court appearances
- Support trial preparation, including strategy, witness preparation, and documentation
- Mentor junior associates on drafting, organization, and case execution
What Success Looks Like
Within the first 60–90 days, you will:
- Deliver high-quality work with increasing efficiency and sound judgment
- Manage deadlines proactively and communicate effectively
- Handle discovery and motion work with discipline and professionalism
- Demonstrate readiness to take on more complex responsibilities and case ownership
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active California Bar license in good standing
- 2–4 years of litigation experience (motion and/or deposition experience preferred)
- Strong legal writing, organization, and attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a paperless environment and adapting to new tools
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus but not required
- Team-oriented, reliable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting
