Legal Assistant Paralegal

The ideal candidate will utilize litigation experience to effectively manage cases under the supervision of an attorney. This individual will review documents, interview witnesses, create case chronologies, prepare and submit court filings, perform intakes, assist in trial preparation and communicate frequently with clients, amongst other duties. Additionally, this candidate will conduct necessary case research to aid the legal proceedings.


Responsibilities

  • Draft discovery requests and responses;
  • Prepare and serve document productions;
  • Review case documents and prepare chronologies;
  • Conduct fact interviews with witnesses;
  • Communicate with opposing counsel to schedule depositions;
  • Prepare and organize trial/arbitration notebooks, exhibits, files;
  • Prepare deposition summaries;
  • Interact with firm clients to provide updates on their cases and to facilitate discovery;
  • Draft initial complaints;
  • Prepare and serve subpoenas;
  • File legal documents through legal service providers.


Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree;
  • At least two year experience as a Litigation Paralegal or legal assistant in an employment or other civil litigation practice;
  • Paralegal certification is preferred;
  • Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
