YOUR ROLE IN THE COMMUNITY
We’re looking for a Junior Designer with strong foundational craft, curiosity, and a collaborative mindset—someone who can translate strategic ideas into compelling visual systems across physical and digital experiences.
You’re passionate about design in all its forms, highly detail-oriented, and eager to learn from a multidisciplinary creative team. You thrive in fast-paced environments, bring a positive, proactive attitude, and are excited to contribute to high-profile, purpose-driven work.
This role supports one of Civic’s most iconic and long-standing client accounts. You’ll work closely with the Group Creative Director and collaborate with creative, strategy, account, and production teams to bring ideas to life across a wide range of media and experiences.
This is a junior-level role where you’ll receive guidance from senior creatives while progressively taking on more ownership and responsibility.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Support the design process from concept through execution across print, digital, and experiential projects
- Contribute to the development of brand activations, event environments, campaign assets, attendee experience and journey mapping
- Create compelling moodboards and visual references to help communicate and sell creative ideas
- Design high-impact presentation decks for internal and client-facing work, as well as supporting our clients’ with their internal and external presentations
- Assist in developing visual systems and ensuring consistency across touchpoints
- Select and curate imagery (stock, custom, photography) to support creative concepts
- Prepare production-ready files and support handoff to vendors and production partners
- Collaborate with internal teams and external creative/production partners
- Gain hands-on experience with materials, fabrication, and environmental design applications
- Maintain strong organization across files, workflows, and timelines
- Contribute to multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines under pressure
- Stay up to date on design trends, emerging formats, and cultural shifts
AI & Innovation
- Leverage AI tools (e.g., generative image, layout, and ideation tools) to accelerate concepting, iteration, and production workflows
- Contribute to the team’s evolving knowledge of AI to improve creative output and efficiency, helping us work smarter not harder!
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE (FIRST 6 MONTHS)
- You’re confidently contributing to creative concepts and visual development
- Your work consistently meets Civic’s standards of craft, taste, and attention to detail
- You’re effectively managing multiple assignments and deadlines
- You’re proactively contributing ideas and collaborating across teams
- You’re gaining fluency in experiential design and production processes
- You’re demonstrating great communication and time-management skills
ROLE QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field, or equivalent experience
- 1–3 years of experience in design (agency, studio, or in-house)
- Strong understanding of typography, color theory, layout, and branding principles
- Experience across print, digital/social, and presentation design
- Interest in experiential/event marketing (experience is a plus)
Tools & skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Experience with Miro, or similar collaborative design tools
- Familiarity with Google Workspace / Microsoft Office
- Basic motion/animation skills (After Effects) are a plus
- Understanding of print production and/or environmental design is a plus

A portfolio showcasing a range of design work across print, digital, and/or experiential applications is required. Please share link on resume.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience working on live events, activations, or brand environments
- Exposure to design systems or brand guidelines at scale
- Motion design or animation experience
- Experience with 3D/rendering tools (Cinema 4D, Blender, etc.)

COMPENSATION
$68K - 72K (commensurate with experience)
