Item Master Data Specialist

The Item Master Data Specialist is responsible for handling the purchases of goods and services, including managing vendor relationships and processing payments. Key responsibilities include product/service sourcing, supplier selection, pricing/terms negotiation, order processing, contract administration, and supplier performance management and reporting of data to internal and external customers based on active contracts for the Health System.

  • Assist in coordinating the collection, maintenance, analysis, and distribution of contract information used in order placement and reporting.

  • Assist in data entry and ensure data accuracy in order to meet established deadlines and goals.

  • Compares PeopleSoft and NuVia contract information and maintains data files contained therein.

  • Work closely with internal staff and vendors in analyzing and resolving data accuracy issues in order to maintain data integrity.

  • Back-up to review and approve NuVia recommendations to PeopleSoft interface.

  • Assist in uploading contract GHX templates into GHX Contract Center.

  • Compare contract GHX templates to current PS Item Master to ensure all information is updated accordingly. Once completed, any and all additional information or issues will need to be addressed.

  • Assist in maintaining statistics and conducting market research.

  • Track progress against planned goals and requirements of the contracts.

  • Use data to make recommendations for greater impact and organizational efficiency.

  • Participates as a team member and is accountable for own work responsibilities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience: 1 year of relevant experience in a health care setting

Licensure: None required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive desktop computers.

The starting base rate for this role is $24.50 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
