The Encompass Group is partnering with a well-established and highly respected law firm in the Frisco area to identify an experienced Intellectual Property Paralegal to join their growing legal team. Position Overview

The Intellectual Property Paralegal will provide comprehensive support to attorneys handling trademark, copyright, patent, and related IP matters. This individual will play a key role in managing filings, deadlines, client communications, and legal documentation while ensuring accuracy and compliance throughout the intellectual property lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, file, and manage trademark, copyright, and patent applications with the appropriate agencies, including the USPTO
  • Monitor and maintain intellectual property docketing systems and ensure all deadlines are met
  • Conduct trademark searches, due diligence reviews, and IP research
  • Draft and prepare legal correspondence, filings, and supporting documentation
  • Assist attorneys with domestic and international trademark prosecution matters
  • Coordinate and manage renewal filings, assignments, and maintenance documentation
  • Communicate with clients, foreign associates, and government agencies regarding filing status and requirements
  • Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality
  • Support attorneys with litigation preparation and discovery related to intellectual property matters as needed
  • Ensure compliance with all procedural requirements and firm standards


Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a Paralegal within an intellectual property practice
  • Experience supporting trademark prosecution and IP portfolio management strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of USPTO filing procedures and intellectual property regulations
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal docketing/database systems
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Paralegal certificate or equivalent legal experience preferred


Preferred Experience

  • Experience with domestic and international trademark filings
  • Familiarity with patent and copyright matters
  • Law firm experience supporting multiple attorneys
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
