Maintenance Electrician – Machine Repair

Pay Rate: $34.25/hr

Employment Type: Direct Hire | Full-Time

Shift: 2nd Shift – Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician with strong industrial troubleshooting experience to support manufacturing equipment, automation systems, and facility electrical systems in a fast-paced production environment. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining complex electrical and automated machinery while ensuring safety, reliability, and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with industrial controls, PLC systems, motor controls, VFDs, and 480V three-phase electrical systems in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical equipment and automated machinery
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings
  • Install conduit, pull wire, terminate electrical connections, and maintain electrical systems
  • Troubleshoot PLC systems and point-to-point wiring issues
  • Maintain and repair:
  • Motor Control Centers (MCCs)
  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
  • AC/DC motors
  • Servo and stepper motors
  • Relays, switches, sensors, and control devices
  • Diagnose electrical faults using diagnostic tools such as:
  • Multimeters
  • Clamp meters
  • Megohmmeters
  • Hi-Pot testers
  • Oscilloscopes
  • Support automation equipment and industrial robotics systems (Fanuc experience preferred)
  • Install and maintain control panels, breakers, disconnects, and switchgear
  • Perform preventive maintenance and equipment upgrades
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems as needed
  • Follow NFPA 70 NEC standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and arc flash safety requirements
  • Document maintenance activities and repairs within CMMS systems
  • Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability

Qualifications

  • Journeyman Electrician License, Electrical License, or equivalent technical degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance electrical experience
  • Experience working with:
  • 240V and 480V three-phase systems
  • PLC troubleshooting
  • Industrial automation systems
  • VFDs and motor controls
  • Strong understanding of electrical theory including AC/DC systems and power distribution
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and control systems
  • Experience reading and understanding industrial electrical schematics
  • Familiarity with transformers, switchgear, generators, panel boards, and control circuits
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of industrial equipment operation
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Experience

  • Fanuc robotics experience
  • Semiconductor, manufacturing, or industrial production environment experience
  • Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics
  • CMMS experience
