Summary of Position


This position is responsible for performing a wide range of electrical work related to large mobile mining equipment, plant facilities, and shop environments. Duties include de-energizing equipment in accordance with isolation and lockout/tagout standards, troubleshooting electrical systems, installing electrical conduit, and reading and interpreting single-line diagrams and schematic drawings.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform basic and advanced electrical work on large mobile mining equipment
  • Safely de-energize equipment following isolation and lockout/tagout procedures
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems on mobile equipment, plant, and shop facilities
  • Install electrical conduit and related components
  • Read, interpret, and work from single-line diagrams and electrical schematics
  • Maintain compliance with all safety, health, and environmental standards


Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Ability to understand and apply mathematical and electrical formulas
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing high-voltage DC motors and generators
  • High school diploma or GED (preferred)
  • PLC programming, troubleshooting, and repair experience (preferred)
  • Technical school degree in Industrial Electronics (preferred)
  • Previous experience with large mobile mining equipment (preferred)
  • MSHA approval for Surface Mine Electrician (preferred)
