Import Coordinator (Air & Ocean) | Atlanta, GA | Salary up to $65,000


Responsible for managing end-to-end import shipments, ensuring compliance with U.S. customs regulations, and delivering exceptional customer service. This role requires strong attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage international import shipments via air and ocean from origin to final delivery
  • Prepare, review, and process import documentation (e.g., bills of lading, arrival notices, commercial invoices, packing lists)
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations and import requirements
  • File or coordinate customs entries (directly or via customs brokers)
  • Communicate with carriers, overseas agents, customs brokers, customers, and internal teams to ensure timely shipment clearance and delivery
  • Arrange delivery appointments and inland transportation as needed
  • Track shipments and proactively resolve delays, holds, or clearance issues
  • Maintain accurate shipment records and update internal systems
  • Provide rate quotations and support pricing requests as needed
  • Ensure all files are billed accurately and closed in a timely manner
  • Deliver high-quality customer service and build strong client relationships


Qualifications & Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or import coordination (air and/or ocean)
  • Strong knowledge of import documentation and customs clearance procedures
  • Familiarity with U.S. Customs regulations (e.g., entry filing, HTS classification basics, ISF filing for ocean shipments)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
