Immigration Paralegal — Hybrid (Schaumburg or Chicago, IL) | Immediate Opening

We're hiring an immigration paralegal to join our team at Francis Law Center.

Our clients trust us with some of the most important moments of their lives: reuniting with a spouse, protecting a loved one from removal, building a future in the U.S. We need someone who takes that responsibility personally.

What you'll do:

• Prepare and file family-based petitions or adjustment of status packages

• Communicate directly with clients in Spanish or English

• Keep every case file organized, deadline-tracked, and audit-ready

• Spot issues before they become problems: missing documents, upcoming deadlines, inconsistencies

• Conduct client intake interviews and screen for case type

• Monitor USCIS and DOS policy changes affecting active cases

What you bring:

This is a family-based immigration role. It is NOT a business immigration, employment-based, asylum, or general paralegal position. Please apply only if you meet the requirements below.

• 1+ year of recent, hands-on experience specifically in family-based immigration law — you must have filed or helped prepare I-130 petitions, I-485 adjustment of status packages, or I-751 removal of conditions cases

• Experience with consular processing (DS-260, NVC) is a plus but not required

• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred

• Associate degree or higher; paralegal certification is a plus

• Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and genuinely patient with people in stressful situations

Who thrives here:

We only hire A-team players — people who connect with our mission, not just the job description. That means you take ownership of your work and your mistakes. You want to grow personally and professionally, not just collect a paycheck. You have the courage to speak up when something isn't right and suggest ways we can do better. In return, we invest in your development and create an environment where your contributions directly help you move closer to your own goals.

If you're looking for "just a job," this isn't it. If you want work that matters and a team that holds itself to high standards, keep reading.

This is a hybrid role: 2–3 days/week in our Schaumburg or Chicago office, remote the rest. Competitive compensation with benefits.

To apply: Send your resume and a brief cover letter to info@francislawcenter.com. In your cover letter, answer this in 3–5 sentences: Describe a time you caught an error or missing document on a case file before it was submitted. What did you do?

Applications without the cover letter response will not be reviewed.
