A growing and well-established immigration law practice in Miami is seeking a motivated Immigration Removal Defense Attorney to join its legal team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an attorney early in their career who is interested in developing strong litigation skills within immigration law. The firm is open to providing training and mentorship for candidates who are eager to expand their experience in removal defense.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients in immigration court proceedings, including removal and deportation defense cases
- Manage a high-volume caseload of approximately 150+ matters with administrative and legal team support
- Prepare and file motions, legal briefs, and supporting documentation
- Conduct legal research and case strategy development
- Communicate with clients regarding case progress, documentation requirements, and legal options
- Appear before immigration courts and coordinate with relevant government agencies
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with immigration procedures and deadlines
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- 1–2 years of legal experience required; immigration law experience preferred
- Exposure to removal defense or immigration court proceedings is highly desirable
- Licensed and in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish required
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced legal environment
