Job Title: Human Resources Manager

Compensation: up to $120K

Location: Santa Fe Spring, CA (4 days onsite)


The Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented HR Operations Manager to lead and optimize core HR operational functions for a growing manufacturing organization. This role will be responsible for payroll administration, benefits and retirement programs, HRIS management, leave administration, compliance, safety support, and employee data management.


Reporting directly to the HR Director, this position serves as the organization's subject matter expert for HR operations and total rewards programs. The ideal candidate is a hands-on HR professional who enjoys improving processes, ensuring compliance, and delivering an exceptional employee experience.


This is an individual contributor role with significant visibility and impact across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end multi-state payroll administration, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.

• Administer employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and wellness offerings.

• Lead annual open enrollment activities, including employee communications, vendor coordination, system updates, and enrollment audits.

• Process qualifying life events and ongoing employee benefit changes.

• Administer the company’s 401(k) retirement plan, including enrollments, employee transactions, and vendor relationships.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions related to payroll, benefits, HR systems, and personnel changes.

• Partner with external payroll, benefits, retirement, and HR technology vendors to ensure effective service delivery.

• Act as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for the HRIS platform.

• Maintain employee records and ensure data accuracy throughout the employee lifecycle.

• Process hires, terminations, promotions, compensation changes, transfers, and organizational updates.

• Generate HR reports, analyze workforce data, and support internal audits and reporting needs.

• Prepare employee correspondence, including offer letters, status changes, and other employment documentation.

• Administer employee leave programs including FMLA, CFRA, ADA accommodations, state-specific leave programs, and company leaves of absence.

• Manage unemployment claims and employment verification requests.

• Support workers’ compensation administration and coordinate with carriers and internal stakeholders.

• Participate on the Safety Committee and assist with workplace safety initiatives.

• Maintain OSHA recordkeeping requirements, including OSHA 300, 300A, and 301 logs, incident tracking, and reporting obligations.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.

• Process Improvement & HR Operations

• Identify opportunities to streamline and improve HR processes, systems, and employee experiences.

• Support year-end payroll activities, audits, compliance reporting, and HR operational initiatives.

• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and documentation to support scalable HR practices.

• Partner cross-functionally with leadership, Finance, and Operations to support organizational objectives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• 5+ years of progressive HR Operations experience with direct responsibility for payroll, benefits administration, HRIS management, and employee data maintenance.

• Experience administering leave programs, retirement plans, open enrollment, workers’ compensation, and employee benefits.

• Strong knowledge of federal and California employment laws, payroll regulations, and compliance requirements.

• Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
