HR Manager
Location: Gardena
Overview
We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead and support all core human resources functions in a unionized environment. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance, fostering positive labor relations, and partnering with leadership to support organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage day‑to‑day HR operations including employee relations, performance management, and policy administration
• Serve as the primary HR point of contact for union‑represented employees
• Interpret and administer collective bargaining agreements (CBAs)
• Support labor relations activities, including grievance handling, investigations, and contract administration
• Partner with leadership and legal counsel on union matters and compliance
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
• Oversee HR processes such as onboarding, training, benefits coordination, and leave administration
• Provide guidance and coaching to managers on HR best practices
• Maintain accurate HR documentation and reporting
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (required)
• Minimum 5 years of HR experience, including hands‑on experience in a unionized environment
• Strong working knowledge of labor laws and collective bargaining agreements
• Experience handling employee relations issues and grievances
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
• Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications
• HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM‑CP, or SHRM‑SCP)
• Experience supporting negotiations or contract renewals
