Position Summary

The HR Manager (Contract) is a 6-month assignment responsible for overseeing core human resources operations while providing hands-on support across payroll, benefits, HRIS, reporting, and employee relations. This role balances execution with ownership of key HR processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a consistent employee experience.

This position serves as a primary HR partner to managers and employees, providing guidance on policies, supporting employee relations matters, and helping drive consistent HR practices across the organization. The ideal candidate is both detail-oriented and capable of operating with a degree of autonomy in managing day-to-day HR functions.


Key Responsibilities

HR Operations & Process Ownership

  • Oversee and execute day-to-day HR operations, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and compliance
  • Maintain ownership of core HR processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and efficiency
  • Partner with leadership to ensure HR practices are aligned with business needs during the contract period


Payroll Administration

  • Manage and process bi-weekly payroll using UKG, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines
  • Oversee monthly bonus payouts, including validation and appropriate taxation
  • Administer employee garnishments, deductions, and related data entry
  • Conduct payroll audits and resolve discrepancies in partnership with Finance
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable payroll regulations


Benefits Administration

  • Oversee benefits administration, including monthly enrollments, changes, and terminations with carriers
  • Ensure accurate integration of benefits data into payroll systems
  • Serve as escalation point for employee benefits inquiries
  • Maintain compliance with applicable benefits regulations and internal policies


HRIS Administration

  • Own the accuracy and integrity of employee data within HRIS (UKG)
  • Oversee updates for hires, changes, and terminations
  • Generate and analyze HR data to support reporting and decision-making
  • Identify and implement process improvements related to HR systems and data management


Reporting & Compliance

  • Own preparation and delivery of monthly and quarterly HR reports
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all required state and federal reporting
  • Support compliance initiatives and audits
  • Monitor adherence to employment laws and internal HR policies


Employee Relations & Manager Support

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee and manager inquiries
  • Provide guidance and coaching to managers on employee relations issues, performance management, and policy interpretation
  • Administer and oversee the company’s corrective action and disciplinary processes
  • Escalate complex or high-risk issues as appropriate
  • Promote fair, consistent, and compliant HR practices


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, including payroll and benefits administration
  • Demonstrated ability to own and manage HR processes independently
  • Hands-on experience with UKG (or similar HRIS/payroll systems) strongly preferred
  • Solid understanding of employment laws, payroll practices, and HR compliance
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and sound judgment


Preferred Qualifications

  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR)
  • Experience supporting a business unit or acting as a primary HR contact
  • Experience with multi-state payroll and reporting requirements
  • Advanced Excel or data analysis skills


Assignment Details

  • Duration: 6-month contract assignment
  • Schedule: Full-Time Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm (or other mutually agreed upon schedule)
  • Start Date: June 2026
