Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a strategic HR business partner to assigned locations and leadership teams
  • Partner with managers to support employee relations, performance management, coaching, and team development initiatives
  • Conduct and manage employee investigations, conflict resolution, and workplace concerns in a fair and compliant manner
  • Drive employee engagement, retention, and culture-building initiatives across multiple locations
  • Coach managers on employee communication, accountability, performance expectations, and difficult conversations
  • Support workforce planning, staffing strategies, and organizational growth initiatives
  • Collaborate with operational leadership to improve employee experience and strengthen workplace culture
  • Provide guidance on company policies, procedures, and employment law compliance
  • Identify trends related to turnover, engagement, and employee relations and recommend proactive solutions
  • Assist with leadership development and manager training initiatives
  • Partner cross-functionally with HR team members to ensure efficient delivery of HR services and support
  • Support change management initiatives and organizational improvements as the company continues to grow
  • Travel periodically to assigned locations to support leadership teams, employee engagement, and operational needs
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee matters with professionalism and discretion
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
  • 4+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in a multi-site environment
  • Strong employee relations and investigation experience required
  • Demonstrated experience building and improving workplace culture and employee engagement
  • Experience coaching and developing managers on performance management and employee relationship responsibilities
  • Solid understanding of employment laws and HR compliance practices
  • Knowledge of Illinois and Chicago employment law strongly preferred; additional multi-state experience is a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally across all levels of an organization
  • Confident, direct, and solutions-oriented approach with the ability to navigate difficult conversations effectively
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and manage multiple locations successfully
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience supporting fast-paced, high-turnover employee populations preferred
  • Ability to travel locally and periodically out of state as needed
  • Comfortable working in pet-friendly environments
  • Experience with HRIS systems such as UKG/Kronos is a plus
