Overview
A rapidly growing industrial products organization is seeking a General Manager to lead one of its key business units. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, revenue growth, and overall profitability across a distribution and manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with strong business acumen, capable of aligning strategy with execution while building and developing high-performing teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Leadership & Strategy Develop and execute a strategic plan to drive revenue growth and improve profitability
- Own full P&L responsibility, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance
- Identify opportunities for operational improvements and cost optimization
- Operations ManagementOversee daily operations across distribution, warehouse, and office functions
- Ensure efficient inventory management, production coordination, and shipping activities
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across logistics and operational workflows
- Sales & Market GrowthPartner with sales leadership to develop and implement regional and national growth strategies
- Support marketing initiatives, pricing strategies, and product positioning
- Monitor performance of sales channels and adjust strategy to meet targets
- Team Leadership & DevelopmentLead, coach, and develop cross-functional teams including operations, sales, and administrative staff
- Oversee hiring, onboarding, performance management, and employee development
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with corporate functions including finance, HR, procurement, and marketing
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure alignment with business objectives
- Ensure compliance with company standards, safety regulations, and product requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 7+ years of leadership experience in a high-volume distribution, logistics, or manufacturing environment
- Proven track record of managing P&L and driving business growth
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
- Experience overseeing operations, sales, and supply chain functions simultaneously
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business systems
