Description

The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst supports the organization’s financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes through detailed analysis, reporting, and business insights. This role is responsible for analyzing financial and operational results against budget and forecast, identifying variances, trends, and data anomalies, and preparing clear, actionable reporting for management.


The FP&A Analyst partners closely with sales, marketing, operations, and affiliate stakeholders to support effective financial decision-making, strengthen internal controls, and improve both financial and operational performance.


Essential Functions


Financial Analysis & Planning

  • Supports the preparation of annual financial and operational assumptions, budgets, and rolling forecasts, including revenue and expense expectations.
  • Prepares regular variance analyses comparing actual results to budget and forecast, highlighting key drivers, trends, and risks for Finance leadership review.
  • Develops and maintains detailed financial models and supporting schedules to enable accurate forecasting and scenario analysis
  • Supports the regular flow of financial information between finance, operations, and leadership to enable informed business decisions
  • Assists with risk assessments and financial projections based on historical performance, operational changes, economic conditions, and customer activity
  • Supports annual price and cost review processes to ensure alignment with budget objectives and market conditions
  • Build sales forecast models and dashboards using PowerBI or other Cloud based tools.


General Accounting

  • Manage the company’s fleet vehicle program.
  • Provide assistance to perform monthly accounting activities, when necessary.
  • Maintain various balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Review and validate non-stock purchase order requisitions for accuracy, completeness, and policy compliance.
  • Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness as needed.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year end close process.


General/Administrative

  • Supports the company vision and mission and demonstrates the corporate core values in all professional activities.
  • Follows all safety requirements, work rules, and regulations.
  • Maintains departmental housekeeping standards.
  • All other duties as requested by management.
  • This position is based out of Fort Worth, Texas.
  • This is a hybrid position that requires a minimum of 3 days onsite per week.
  • Up to 10% of travel may be required to attend business meetings.


Basic Requirements


Education

  • B.A. in Business, Economics or Finance required; Masters’ degree or other certifications a plus
  • 5+ years of experience as a financial analyst may be substituted for the education requirement.


Experience

  • 3-5 years of financial analysis experience required.
  • Experience in manufacturing and/or distribution companies preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills required – capable of digging into and understanding large amounts of data and solving for root causes and/or underlying trends and variances.
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and economic principles.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of and experience with financial computer applications and advanced Excel proficiency (Pivot Tables, VLookup, Sumif, Charts, etc.).
  • Knowledge of PowerBI and experience with AI tools.
  • Application-level skills in Microsoft office suite including Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Experience with JDE a plus.
