Role Description This is a full-time hybrid Family Law Attorney role based in Austin, TX, with the ability to perform some work from home. The attorney will handle a diverse family law caseload, including divorces, child custody and support matters, modifications, enforcements, and related legal issues from intake through resolution. Day-to-day responsibilities include meeting with clients, assessing legal needs, providing advice, developing case strategies, drafting pleadings and motions, conducting discovery, and preparing for hearings and trials. The role involves representing clients in court, at mediation, and in negotiations with opposing counsel, as well as taking and defending depositions when needed. The attorney will also manage deadlines, maintain organized case files, collaborate with support staff, and ensure accurate, timely communication with clients and the court.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Law and demonstrated experience handling Legal Issues within a litigation or family-focused practice.
  • Substantial experience in Family Law, including divorce, custody, support, property division, and related matters.
  • Proficiency in drafting, reviewing, and arguing Motions, including temporary orders, modifications, and enforcements.
  • Experience preparing for and conducting Depositions, including examining witnesses and managing discovery strategies.
  • Active license to practice law in Texas and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills, with strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Ability to manage a substantial caseload, prioritize tasks, and meet court and client deadlines in a hybrid work environment.
  • Professional, empathetic client communication skills and a commitment to ethical, client-centered representation.
  • Prior experience in a family law firm or litigation setting preferred; proficiency with case management and legal research software is beneficial.
