Job Summary
The Facilities Operations Manager is responsible for assuming the duties of the Facilities Operations Project Manager when they are unavailable. This position will oversee a team of facility maintenance technicians and facility operations specialists. Projects range from regular preventative and reactive maintenance to minor construction projects.
Pay Rate: Up to $130,000 per year
Essential Job Functions:
- Lead day-to-day operations of critical facility systems including electrical, mechanical, and monitoring systems.
- Manager operations staff, shift schedules, training programs, and performance evaluations.
- Oversee incident management, escalation procedures, and post-incident reviews.
- Ensure compliance with operational policies, SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs.
- Coordinate with engineering, security, and IT teams to maintain uptime and service quality.
- Track operational metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support audits, compliance reviews, and capacity planning activities
- Manage the day to day operations of the facilities under contract
- Ensuring project Safety/Security
- Manage the preventative and reactive maintenance programs for all facilities utilizing CMMS systems
- Assists in developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
- Develop detailed plans to track special projects
- Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs
- Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and, techniques
- Report and escalate to management as needed
- Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
- Ensure contract compliance
- Following established and/or developing methods and standards
- Recruitment/Staffing/Management/Employee Relations/Supervision of employees
- Task train all contract employees on proper, safe, efficient, effective use/handling of all tools, equipment, methods, chemicals, devices, apparel, procedures, processes.
- Plan, organize and supervise maintenance and repairs performed by building staff. Responsible for maintaining and improving buildings
- Responsible for buildings quality control. Inspects facilities and work areas to eliminate deficiencies
- Continually evaluate the effectiveness of maintenance procedures and programs and makes changes to improve quality, efficiency and effectiveness.
- Review employees work hours to verify accuracy and approves payroll
Job Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, facilities management, or related field
- Equivalent experience may be accepted in place of a degree
- 7 years of facility maintenance and management in an industrial or commercial setting
- 5 years of experience in Tier III Data Center operations
- Experience in using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Experience in Building Automation Systems
- Experience directing or supervising mechanical operations and maintenance in buildings
