Job Summary
The EHS Manager is responsible for driving Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) initiatives at a key operational site. The role focuses on ensuring company policies and best practices are implemented, while maintaining full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations to support a safe, healthy, and compliant workplace.
This position will play a key role in developing and sustaining a strong EHS culture, promoting employee engagement, and ensuring stable, repeatable processes. The role also acts as a liaison with regulatory bodies, inspection agencies, and certification organizations. Responsibilities include monitoring and reporting on environmental and regulatory requirements, as well as ensuring consistent EHS reporting across regional service locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and work instructions
- Support and participate in incident investigations, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions
- Promote a strong safety culture focused on compliance, engagement, and continuous improvement
- Lead and support risk assessments and internal audits, ensuring timely follow-up on corrective actions
- Assist with workers’ compensation case management
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of EHS data across multiple sites, including validation of submitted information
- Identify and implement initiatives to improve health, safety, and environmental performance
- Deliver and support training on EHS-related topics
- Drive continuous improvement of EHS programs and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements
- Oversee hazardous waste handling, storage, and disposal in compliance with regulations
- Support development and execution of sustainability initiatives and long-term environmental targets
- Partner with operational leaders to meet safety and environmental performance goals
- Perform additional duties as required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required (Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field preferred)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an EHS-related role within an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Professional certifications such as ASP or CSP preferred
- Working knowledge of OSHA standards and safety compliance frameworks
- Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) preferred
- Background in hazardous waste management and environmental compliance
- Proven experience developing and delivering safety training programs
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects and drive change independently
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and EHS reporting systems
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Capable of conducting field inspections, including walking, climbing, and working in industrial environments
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Work Environment
- Mix of office and industrial/manufacturing environments
- Regular exposure to typical industrial conditions
- Field-based work required, including travel between sites
- Required use of PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection
