Duties:
- Manage the Electrical department, including engineers, designers, and support staff.
- Provide technical expertise and quality oversight on engineering deliverables.
- Collaborate with project managers and other discipline leads to execute multi-discipline projects.
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering technical growth and professional development.
- Develop and maintain department standards, tools, and best practices.
- Support client relationships and business development activities, including proposal preparation and estimating.
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.
- Travel 10-15% of the time. Project managers and BD’s do the most, sometimes department managers do travel though.
- This is a working manager- this person may be up to 50-60% billable, while also managing, mentoring the group. Most of the work is oversight and stamping vs. doing drawings.
- May also do bidding, quotes, reviews, checks, and client communication
- Familiar/use and experience with REVIT
- Advantage working here: Get hands dirty, be part of process, day to day talk to PM’s and VP’s. people will know their name, not just sit in a corner office and blend in/fade away. Hands in quite a few buckets
- *We need someone to come from the engineering/design side, not the construction company*. Jedson has everything on site- civil, structural, electrical, etc.
Required Skills (Must have):
- Bachelor’s in EE
- Experience leading or managing electrical disciplines (designers, drafters, etc.)- up to 20-25 people
- Ability to travel 10-15% of the time
- Decently recent use and understanding of REVIT
- P.E. License or ability to obtain one
- Experience at an EPCM firm (all eng done under 1 roof),
Preferred Skills (Nice to have):
- Someone from an EPCM (EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management) firms differ from traditional construction companies primarily because they act as professional consultants and managers rather than the direct builder.)
