**Job Title:** Manufacturing Automation Technician / Engineering Technologist (3rd Shift)
**Location:** Hickory, North Carolina
**Salary:** $76,000 – $104,500 (depending on experience) + Bonus Potential

I am currently seeking a skilled Engineering Technologist for a premier global leader in the healthcare manufacturing space. This is a mission-critical role within their North Carolina facility, where your technical troubleshooting skills will directly impact the production of life-saving medical products.

**The Role:**
This is a dedicated 3rd-shift position (Sunday night – Thursday night, approx. 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM). You will serve as the technical lead on the floor, ensuring that automated systems and complex mechanical equipment operate at peak performance. This role is ideal for a proactive problem-solver who enjoys both "hands-on" technical work and project management.
**Core Responsibilities:**
* **Automation & Electrical:** Diagnose and repair PLC, robotics, servo drives, and HMI/process control systems to minimize production downtime.
* **Mechanical Systems:** Troubleshoot and optimize high-speed automation and manufacturing hardware.
* **Project Leadership:** Manage mid-sized capital projects and equipment modifications from initial concept through validation and production launch.
* **Continuous Improvement:** Develop and update SOPs, functional specifications, and documentation in compliance with cGMP and 6S standards.
* **Financial Oversight:** Estimate costs for process improvements and manage approved project budgets.
**What You’ll Bring:**
* **Experience:** A minimum of 5 years in a related technical or engineering field.
* **Education:** High school diploma required; an Associate’s Degree (AA) in a technical field is strongly preferred.
* **Technical Skills:** Proficiency in CAD software, MS Project, and standard Office tools. Ability to interpret and develop mechanical blueprints.
* **Compliance:** Experience working within highly regulated environments (cGMP/Standard Operating Procedures) is a plus.
* **Communication:** Strong English verbal and written skills for cross-functional collaboration.
