Landegger Verano, ALC, a California employment defense boutique, is seeking an exceptional Employment Litigation Associate (3–5 years) to join our dynamic and diverse team.

Landegger & Verano is a Southern California employment law firm with over 40 years of experience representing and defending employers and business owners. We represent employers ranging from small, family-owned businesses to multinational corporations, advising on California employment law compliance, policies, best practices, and employee and management training, and we maintain a robust litigation practice defending employers in threatened and filed employment actions, including PAGA and wage-and-hour class actions. 


Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Employment Litigation Associate position located in Encino, CA. The ideal candidate is a motivated team player with strong litigation, writing, and analytical skills who is ready to take ownership of cases and work closely with clients and senior attorneys in a fast-paced, high-level practice.


Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge and practical experience in employment law
  • Comfortable drafting and responding to discovery and initial pleadings
  • Proficiency in drafting, reviewing, and arguing motions
  • Proven expertise in conducting research and analyzing legal precedents
  • Experience taking and defending depositions and preparing related documentation
  • Familiarity with court procedures and presenting cases effectively in court
  • Experience participating in mediation/arbitration involving claims of discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, etc.
  • Exceptional writing, analytical, and written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively on a team as well as independently
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Juris Doctor degree and active membership in the California State Bar
  • 3-5 years prior experience in labor and employment law, wage and hour, and PAGA-related matters


Compensation ranges between $150,000 to $180,000, depending on experience, with benefits and growth opportunities.
