Role Description The Electrician will work on-site full time in Bakersfield, CA and throufhout the State of California, supporting commercial construction and related projects. This role includes installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, fixtures, and equipment according to plans, codes, and safety standards. Daily responsibilities involve reading and interpreting blueprints, laying out wiring and conduit, connecting panels and circuits, and testing systems to verify proper operation. The Electrician will troubleshoot electrical issues, diagnose faults, and perform corrective maintenance to minimize downtime. The role also involves coordinating with supervisors, other trades, and project managers to sequence work, maintain jobsite safety, and document completed tasks and materials used.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundational knowledge of electricity and electrical work principles, with the ability to apply them in commercial construction environments.
  • Hands-on experience with maintenance & repair and troubleshooting of electrical systems, components, and equipment.
  • Familiarity with electrical engineering concepts as they relate to load calculations, circuits, and system design is preferred.
  • A PLUS: Current electrician license or journeyperson status in California (or ability to obtain, if applicable to role level).
  • Demonstrated understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and jobsite safety regulations (including OSHA practices).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and specifications for commercial construction projects.
  • Proficiency with common electrical tools, testing instruments, and measuring devices, and commitment to tool and equipment care.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working in various site conditions.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with a diverse team of trades and project stakeholders.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in electrical work is a plus.
