Director, Strategic Initiatives
We are working on a high-visibility Director, Strategic Initiatives opportunity with a growing financial services / investment management firm. This role will focus on leading major cross-functional business initiatives tied to growth, go-to-market strategy, product commercialization, and investor education.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong background in financial services product launches, go-to-market strategy, investment products, ETFs, mutual funds, wealth platforms, investor tools, or strategic initiatives who enjoys working closely with senior leadership and driving projects from concept through execution.
What You’ll Do
- Lead high-impact strategic initiatives across product, distribution, marketing, operations, and senior leadership.
- Own the rollout of a new investor-facing online tool designed to educate individual and institutional investors on product use cases.
- Build structure around complex, ambiguous business initiatives and turn strategy into actionable execution plans.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to drive alignment, accountability, adoption, and measurable business impact.
- Support future launch strategy and go-to-market planning for ETFs, funds, and related financial services products.
- Communicate progress, risks, updates, and recommendations to senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
- Identify roadblocks, create solutions, and keep initiatives moving forward in a fast-paced environment.
What We’re Looking For
- 10–12+ years of relevant experience in financial services, asset management, wealth management, investment management, consulting, business transformation, product strategy, product commercialization, or enterprise program management.
- Experience leading go-to-market strategy, product launches, or rollout of financial services products, investment products, ETFs, mutual funds, investor tools, advisor tools, or digital wealth platforms.
- Strong cross-functional leadership experience across product, distribution/sales, marketing, operations, compliance, technology, or executive leadership.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and drive execution without always having direct authority.
- Strong executive presence and ability to communicate clearly with senior leadership / C-suite stakeholders.
- Strategic, analytical, and hands-on mindset; comfortable operating in ambiguity and creating structure.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or graduate degree preferred.
Nice to Have
- ETF or mutual fund experience.
- Asset management or investment management industry background.
- Investor-facing tool, advisor platform, or digital product rollout experience.
- Experience measuring success through adoption, engagement, revenue impact, client reception, or AUM growth.
- Management consulting background within financial services.
Details
Location: Bethesda, MD or New York, NY
Schedule: Hybrid — 3 days in office, 2 days remote
Compensation: $180K–$250K base + discretionary bonus
Total compensation potential: Strong first-year total compensation potential depending on experience and performance
