Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Account Director to manage and expand a portfolio of utility and energy clients. This individual will serve as a strategic advisor to customers, drive account growth opportunities, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful client outcomes. This role is focused on relationship management, business development within existing accounts, and long-term client success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of utility and energy sector accounts, serving as the primary client contact for strategic initiatives and business discussions.
- Develop strong relationships with executive stakeholders and key decision-makers.
- Gain a deep understanding of client objectives, operational challenges, and long-term business goals.
- Lead regular account reviews and strategic planning sessions to strengthen partnerships and identify opportunities for growth.
- Partner with internal teams across delivery, product, marketing, and leadership functions to support client success.
- Identify opportunities for additional services, solutions, and account expansion within existing client relationships.
- Monitor account performance, analyze trends, and provide recommendations to improve overall client outcomes.
- Support contract renewals, negotiations, and account retention efforts.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends and market developments within the utilities and energy space.
- Participate in client meetings, conferences, and industry events as needed.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in Account Management, Client Services, Account Direction, or a related client-facing leadership role.
- 5+ years of experience supporting clients within the utilities and/or energy industry.
- Demonstrated success managing and growing B2B client relationships.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to develop strategic account plans and execute growth initiatives.
- Experience working cross-functionally with technical, operational, and business stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven mindset.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms and common business productivity tools.
- Experience supporting technology, SaaS, web, mobile application, or digital services engagements is preferred.
- Familiarity with Agile environments and collaboration platforms such as Google Workspace and Confluence is a plus.
- Self-starter who can work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
