About the Role


As the Director of Nursing, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Maternity Suites, ensuring safe, efficient, and patient-centered care for mothers and newborns.


Responsibilities


  • Lead Clinical Operations: Oversee daily operations of the Maternity Suites, ensuring safe, efficient, and patient-centered care for mothers and newborns.
  • Develop & Inspire Teams: Mentor and support nursing staff through coaching, performance development, and engagement initiatives.
  • Drive Quality & Outcomes: Lead quality improvement efforts using data, best practices, and evidence-based care models.
  • Ensure Compliance: Maintain regulatory readiness and adherence to standards (Joint Commission, state, and federal guidelines).
  • Collaborate Across Disciplines: Partner with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary teams to enhance care delivery.
  • Optimize Resources: Manage staffing, budgets, and operational processes to ensure efficiency and sustainability.


Qualifications


  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current Maryland RN license (or Compact State licensure)
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical nursing experience
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in an acute care setting
  • Strong leadership, communication, and operational management skills


Preferred Skills


  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field
  • Specialty certification in maternal-child health (required within 6 months of hire if not already obtained)
  • Experience in labor & delivery, postpartum, or women’s health services



Pay range and compensation package

Pay rate: $54.94 - $82.40

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
