We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Travel Director of Nursing (DON) to join our growing healthcare organization supporting skilled nursing and long-term care facilities throughout the Cleveland area. This role is ideal for a strong clinical leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and is passionate about improving patient care, supporting nursing teams, and driving operational excellence.


The Travel DON will provide interim leadership and operational support to facilities experiencing transitions, staffing challenges, census growth, or survey preparation needs. This position requires flexibility, strong clinical knowledge, and the ability to quickly build relationships with interdisciplinary teams.


Responsibilities

  • Provide interim Director of Nursing leadership and support to skilled nursing facilities throughout the Cleveland market
  • Oversee day-to-day nursing operations to ensure quality resident care and regulatory compliance
  • Lead, mentor, and support nursing staff including ADONs, Unit Managers, and floor nurses
  • Assist facilities with survey preparedness, plan of correction implementation, and regulatory compliance
  • Monitor clinical systems, infection control, staffing, documentation, and quality measures
  • Review clinical audits, incident reports, and risk management concerns
  • Support facilities with census development, admissions processes, and care coordination
  • Collaborate with Administrators and regional leadership to improve clinical outcomes and operational performance
  • Assist with staff education, onboarding, and performance management
  • Provide hands-on clinical support when needed during transitions or staffing shortages
  • Travel to assigned facilities as needed throughout the Cleveland and surrounding areas


Qualifications

  • Active RN license in the state of Ohio
  • Minimum of 3 years of Director of Nursing experience in skilled nursing or long-term care
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations, survey process, and clinical compliance
  • Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, MDS, and Quality Measures preferred
  • Proven leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly and effectively manage multiple priorities
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly within the region
