Responsible for 24-hour operational effectiveness and efficiency of assigned patient care areas. Demonstrates an awareness of internal and external forces impacting care and resources at the point-of-service as well as across the care continuum. Facilitates an atmosphere of participative management and teamwork among the nursing staff as well as promoting and achieving the philosophy, goals, and standards of the organization and nursing services within their defined areas of responsibility. Contributes to the long-range planning process and recruitment and retention of qualified nurse. Collaborates in organizational programming and committee work. A commitment to clinical excellence is displayed through participation in and support of evidence-based practice and the consistent implementation of clinical standards of care and practice through professional development activities for self and nursing staff. Position Qualifications: Education/Training:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; MSN Preferred. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
Experience: Minimum of seven (7) years nursing experience, including three (3) years in the Maternal Child Health area, Pediatrics and/or NICU with a minimum of five (5) years demonstrated leadership experience. Demonstrated participation on councils and committees.
