Overview

A growing, multi-entity organization in the property and community management space is seeking a Director of Accounting to lead and elevate its financial operations function. This role serves as the technical accounting leader for the organization and is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting across a large portfolio of managed associations.

You’ll partner closely with senior leadership to shape strategy, drive operational excellence, and lead a high-performing accounting team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.



Key Responsibilitie

sLeadership & Strateg

  • yPartner with executive leadership to define and execute accounting strategy and departmental prioritie
  • sLead, mentor, and develop an accounting management team, including direct oversight of Controller
  • sDrive a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvemen

tFinancial Oversight & Reportin

  • gEnsure accurate, timely financial reporting across a large portfolio of association client
  • sAct as the organization’s technical accounting authority, ensuring proper GAAP applicatio
  • nReview a high volume of monthly financial statements, identifying trends, risks, and improvement opportunitie

sOperations & Process Improvemen

  • tEstablish and monitor KPIs to assess team performance, capacity, and efficienc
  • yLead process improvements, standardization efforts, and data-driven decision-making initiative
  • sPartner with IT to enhance accounting systems and reporting capabilitie
  • sMaintain and strengthen internal controls, including support for external audits (SSAE-18/SOC

)Team & Portfolio Managemen

  • tOversee workload distribution, staffing plans, and team productivity using data and metric
  • sSupport onboarding of new association clients, ensuring clean and accurate financial setu
  • pStep in on complex accounts to resolve issues and guide teams toward sustainable solution

sClient & Stakeholder Engagemen

  • tServe as a key financial advisor to boards, community leaders, and internal stakeholder
  • sLead high-level financial discussions, including banking, cash management, and reporting practice
  • sCollaborate cross-functionally with operations, training, and business development team
