Accounting Director, North America

We are partnering with a global industrial technology organization seeking an experienced Accounting Director to lead North American accounting operations during a period of significant transformation and growth.

About the Role

This is a highly visible leadership opportunity responsible for overseeing accounting operations across multiple business units, driving process standardization, strengthening controls, and leading a large, geographically dispersed team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of approximately 20 accounting professionals across multiple locations
• Oversee month-end close, financial reporting, and consolidation activities
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP, SOX requirements, and internal controls
• Manage complex revenue recognition matters, including ASC 606
• Drive accounting process improvements, automation, and standardization initiatives
• Partner with finance and operational leaders to support strategic business objectives
• Lead integration efforts related to acquisitions and organizational transformation
• Provide leadership on financial reporting, account reconciliations, and balance sheet integrity

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA strongly preferred
• 12+ years of progressive accounting experience
• 7+ years of leadership experience managing accounting teams
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, and SOX compliance
• Experience working within complex, multi-entity organizations
• ERP system experience required
• Proven ability to lead change, improve processes, and build high-performing teams

• Manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or capital equipment environments
• Experience with revenue recognition and contract accounting
• Background leading accounting transformations, integrations, or shared services initiatives
